Triana Nurmaria (b. 1995, East Java, Indonesia) is a contemporary painter whose work meditates on alienation as both a psychological condition and a bodily experience. A graduate of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta, she explores the human figure as a vessel for emotion, isolation, and self-inquiry — poised between presence and absence, reality and dream.
Her figures often appear suspended in liminal, surrealistic spaces — compositions that balance fragility and strength, silence and tension. Through bold brushwork and spontaneous gesture, Triana visualizes the unseen: the interior voice, the quiet pulse beneath modern noise.
Her work Hear the Depth, exhibited at the Yogya Annual Art Festival #9, embodied this theme with poetic force — transforming silence into an act of awareness and resistance.
