Lem Tee Sin

Lem Tee Sin is a Malaysian environmental artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, installation, sculpture, eyewear design, and collective art-making. His work is structured around three interconnected series — Lin (Forest), Zi(Resources), and Shen (Deep Breath) — forming an ecological and human-centered framework that bridges environment, material transformation, and collaboration.

  • Through Lin, Lem reflects on forest ecosystems, endangered species, and the life cycles of trees, exploring both vitality and fragility within natural systems. Zi examines the circulation and regeneration of resources, emphasizing sustainability through reuse and transformation. Shen expands his practice into collective participation, using the metaphor of a “deep breath” to gather individuals into Art La Mak — a model of co-creation grounded in mutual respect and shared authorship.

His practice extends beyond studio production into education, leadership, and community building. Having founded an art academy and later served as Director of Pin Hwa High School (Klang), Lem integrates insights from children’s psychology, environmental awareness, and lived experience into his artistic philosophy. His journey — from building and selling a successful design house to undertaking a solo cycling expedition across Europe — informs a practice rooted in reflection, resilience, and interconnectedness.

Working across disciplines and borders, Lem positions art not merely as object-making, but as a regenerative process linking ecology, human agency, and collective responsibility.
