Diana Puspita Putri (b. 1996, Indonesia) is a contemporary painter whose work merges surrealism, symbolism, and expressionism into dreamlike visual worlds. A graduate of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta (ISI, 2014–2019), she creates with vivid imagination and bold vision — intertwining organic shapes, psychological narratives, and layered colour harmonies that feel both ethereal and grounded.
For Diana, art is an act of remembrance — a way to eternalize fleeting experiences and emotional landscapes. “Time passes quickly,” she says,“ and what is forgotten feels unfortunate. So I express my life, my inner phenomena, and immortalize them in art.” This poetic approach results in works that oscillate between personal myth and universal emotion, revealing her deep sensitivity to the beauty and fragility of being human.
Her practice reflects a maturity rare for her generation — simultaneously intimate and expansive, meditative yet explosive in chromatic energy. Recognized for her distinctive voice, Diana has received numerous awards, including:
Silver Award, UOB Painting of the Year (14th Edition, 2024)
Bronze Award, Emerging Artist Category, UOB Painting of the Year (35th Edition, 2016)
Finalist, Basoeki Abdullah Art Award (2016 & 2019)
1st Winner, Polban Islamic Fair Comic Contest, West Java Province (2014)
Her works have been exhibited widely in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Seoul, California, and Hong Kong, including major showcases at Art Jakarta, Unicorn Gallery, Langgeng Art Foundation, Bale Banjar Sangkring, and NA Arthouse.
Diana’s visual universe is one of controlled chaos — where feminine power, memory, and metamorphosis merge into luminous compositions that transcend narrative. Through colour, she transforms introspection into spectacle; through form, she bridges emotion and eternity.
Her work stands at the threshold of contemporary surrealism and spiritual expression, positioning her among the most compelling young voices in Southeast Asian art today.
